A book about five movements that shape how we grow and the heroes who walk us back to ourselves.

Description

Stories of Transformation, Belonging, and Becoming

What if change is not something we do alone? What if it is something we grow into together?

In Heroes of Change, Philip Molebash shares the stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things: a Jesuit priest building kinship with former gang members, a bus driver turning routes into lifelines of belonging, a social entrepreneur reimagining education, a business leader redefining success, and an actor inviting deeper questions about meaning and purpose.

Woven through these journeys is the Heroic Change Model—Awakening, Calling, Leaping, Emerging, and Becoming—which reveals how transformation happens: slowly, imperfectly, and in community.

This is not a book about saving the world. It is a book about showing up for it and discovering that the most powerful change begins when we choose to belong.

Some books inform you. Some inspire you. And every once in a while, a book asks you to become more than the person who opened that first page.

Heroes of Change is one of those books.

You can tell Philip Molebash is a storyteller at heart and has a rare gift for taking everyday people and weaving their journeys into stories that illuminate what it means to become. Rather than telling you what to think, he invites you into peoples lives and conversations that linger long after you’ve finished reading. I found myself highlighting passages, pausing to reflect, having “AHA” moments, and returning to chapters because each read revealed something new.

Whether you’re searching for purpose (calling), navigating change (leaping), or simply wanting to see yourself and the world through a wider lens (belonging), this book offers wisdom without preaching and hope without pretending life is easy.

I didn’t just finish this book, I finished a conversation I’ve been having with myself for years. And now I’m walking away seeing my own story a little differently, and that in itself reminds me that becoming isn’t a destination, it’s a lifelong invitation.

If you’re looking for a book that challenges you, encourages you, and stays with you long after the last page, I can’t recommend this one enough.
